A few quick experiments: Using the XL7 Demo on a 1.37GB G4/450 with OS9.1. A prism displayed using caustics, and a little hack involving motion blur: Click here for a description of how the scene was set up. The scene motion blur technique darkens the spectrum, but this can be helped a little bit by increasing the saturation in post. The shot above is a screen cap right from the render window. If anyone has suggestions on how to show spectra in animations or how to boost the saturation in the original render, please
I have been trying for a while to get a good "Aqua UI" look out of XL6 without much success. Caustics in XL7 help quite a bit. Note the render times are quite reasonable. Using the XL7 Demo on a 384MB G4/450 with OS9.1. A couple of OSX-y images. No radiosity.
And something more along the lines of a gel cap. This is on a 128MB PII/300 running NT4SP3. Using caustics and the fresnel shader. |
